Australian Women Lawyers (AWL) is primarily concerned with issues relating
to the practice
and advancement of women in the legal profession. See

also works to eliminate both direct and indirect discrimination against
women in the legal system and the administration of justice so that
the legal system is more responsive to women's needs. Read some of our

was launched at the Australian Legal Convention, Melbourne on Friday
19 September, 1997. Our patron is Justice
Mary Gaudron, the first woman appointed to the High
Court of Australia. Read some of the speeches
